My name’s Tansy and and I’m an intuitive crystal Reiki energy healer, energetic nutrition and holistic health practitioner, and a crystal jewelry designer. It’s time to talk all things energy. Let’s dive in. If you’ve ever struggled to speak your truth, if your voice has felt shaky, silenced or swallowed, if you know that you’re meant to share something, but it’s stuck in your throat or caught in these old stories, this episode is for you.
0:00:58 Tansy Rodgers: This is week five, week five of our crystal infused chakra series, the Evolution of Self. And today we rise into the throat chakra to talk all about embodied truth and how to reclaim your voice, your voice of your soul. This is the bridge between the heart and the mind. It’s the sacred temple of voice and vibration and aligned truth. And so before we dive in, if you’re feeling called to really explore deeper energy healing or you want to hold one of today’s crystals in your palm or around your neck, you can browse my Reiki infused jewelry or check out upcoming events and Sessions [email protected]
0:01:45 Tansy Rodgers: if you want to look at jewelry Specifically, go to beuchrystals.com and you can find all of that down in the show notes. All right, let’s breathe in and drop into some truth now. The throat chakra. The throat chakra has always been that chakra for me that has felt the most challenged. I even have the throat chakra symbol tattooed on the back of my neck, literally right over the throat chakra, because I wanted to remind myself each and every single day that it was okay to speak my truth, to speak my uniqueness, to speak up, set my boundaries, do what I need to do to be healthy in that expression of always, not just in my voice, but also in my creativity.
0:02:41 Tansy Rodgers: The throat chakra is your fifth energy center and it’s located at the base of your throat, radiating out through your neck, your shoulders, your jaw, your mouth, mouth, your thyroid, and your vocal cords. The element that is associated with the throat is the ether, that vast spaciousness that really holds sound, vibration and resonance. There’s a reason that when you hum, that activates that throat chakra. It is because it is getting right in there to that element of the ether.
0:03:15 Tansy Rodgers: This is the chakra of communication and expression, listening and being heard, energetic integrity, where your words match your soul. It’s your creative truth and your sacred silence. It is how you express in all ways, like I said earlier, not just your voice, not just the things that you need to say, but also in creative projects. You know, your sacral chakra is about creation. It’s about the foundation, that bottom point, that base of creation, but our throat, it is where the creation gets put out into the world. Almost like that birthing of.
0:03:59 Tansy Rodgers: But there’s one thing that I see people missing when it comes to the throat chakra all the time. And that the throat chakra isn’t just about talking. Because somebody could be very vocal, they could be very outspoken, and yet their throat chakra is still out of alignment. And you might ask, but why? How does that happen? It’s because this chakra isn’t just about talking. It’s about truth. It’s about your truth.
0:04:32 Tansy Rodgers: Speaking your truth, speaking your heart desires, speaking the voice of your soul. That is what this chakra is all about. Not the one that you were taught to say, not the truths that keep the peace. Is that really a truth? Not the truths that been shaped by fear, politeness or shame. Again, is that really truths? Not necessarily. But the raw, wild soul deep truth that’s been waiting to be spoken, to be put out there into the, the ether.
0:05:12 Tansy Rodgers: When the throat chakra is balanced, you feel comfortable expressing your needs, your boundaries, your desires. You have more clarity and honesty without being reactive. You become creatively inspired through your words, your music, your ideas that just flow. You’re in more alignment, your actions start to match your values and you become deeply attuned to your inner voice and to others. There’s this calm confidence.
0:05:43 Tansy Rodgers: You don’t just say what sounds good, you say what’s real. You listen, speak, write, share from a place of embodied wisdom, a place in your soul that needs to be expressed. And you know, it’s very interesting because I have seen some of the most balanced throat chakras from those who say the least amount of words. But they say the words when they feel called to say them. And they say the words with truth and with genuine heart desire.
0:06:18 Tansy Rodgers: They say the words that feel like they need to come out, when they need to come out. Not necessarily an abundance of words, but the words that need to be spoken. And yet those throat chakras are still balanced. Now, when your throat chakra is blocked or it’s overactive, you may notice tightness in the throat, the jaw, the neck. Maybe you have some voice issues, like your voice becomes cracked, or you have some hoarseness, or maybe you lose your voice, you have thyroid imbalances. Or tmj.
0:06:55 Tansy Rodgers: You might experience chronic over explaining or people pleasing. This was mine, chronic over explaining and people pleasing all the damn time. I knew at that point that my throat chakra was not balanced because of the over explaining. You may find that you’re shutting down completely, especially when you’re emotional. And you may find that you have a tendency to say things to keep up other people comfortable.
0:07:28 Tansy Rodgers: This is the chakra that gets squeezed when you’re afraid of judgment, afraid of being too much or not enough. And it starts to contract when you have to code, switch, mask or contort your truth to survive. One of the things that I find so interesting as I’ve been learning about myself over my healing journey and as I’ve had new experts explorations and who I am and how my brain, my body, my soul operates, is that masking was a huge part of my existence.
0:08:02 Tansy Rodgers: It is a huge tendency of where I would always go in order to stay safe. And when I would mask, it was literally like my throat chakra. My voice would just start to shut down and I would like I said chronically over explain people please. If I was too emotional, I would shut down completely. I would start to say words, phrases, things that were acceptable to those around me so that I wasn’t rocking the boat.
0:08:33 Tansy Rodgers: And so I found that that mask that I grew up knowing and holding so true as my authentic self, even though it wasn’t that, that was actually keeping my throat chakra very, very imbalanced, very blocked and not allowing that energy to flow fully and completely. It was really my way of just surviving. But again, I didn’t know any better. I didn’t know that I was doing something that was actually blocking my truth.
0:09:08 Tansy Rodgers: But here is a healing reframe for you. Let’s shift that. Expression is not ego, it’s expansion. Truth is not confrontation, it’s liberation. I think so many people hold back from saying the truth and the things that they really want to say or that their heart needs to say because it feels like confrontation. And so many people are afraid of confrontation. Me too. I get it. I think our society has also deemed expression and saying what you need as egotistic, selfish, stepping into a place that is going to be not healthy, narcissistic.
0:10:03 Tansy Rodgers: Right. And so I’m here to tell you that that is not necessarily true. Expression is not ego. It is a way for you to expand. And truth is not confrontation. It is liberation for your soul, for your being to say and move the way that it needs to move in order to evolve, transform and grow. So in this episode, just like all the other ones, I want to really dive into a few crystals that are my favorites when it comes to the throat chakra, because I have found the most success with these three in particular.
0:10:42 Tansy Rodgers: Now I do have a bonus one that I will throw out there. I’m not going to talk so much about it because I just want to focus on these three. But my bonus one I’ll start out with that is blue calcite. I love blue calcite for actually unblocking the throat chakra. And so if you feel like you really struggle with the blocking side, like, if it’s hard for you to rummage up those words, if you feel like you have a frog in your throat, if any of those descriptions that I talked about when it comes to blocked or overactive throat chakra feels like truth to you, then maybe using some blue calcite to unblock that area.
0:11:19 Tansy Rodgers: Calcites in general, regardless of what chakra it is, are great stones to help with the unblocking, to help with the opening and the flowing. So if you are opening up your heart chakra, for example, maybe working with some pink calcite or some mangano calcite would be great for helping to unblock block. But if we’re looking at the throat chakra, blue calcite is amazing for that. If I have a client that comes in where I can really feel that she is very she or he is very, very blocked in that throat, based off of my intuition and what I feel coming off of the energy field, but also with the intake form, then I will use some blue calcite there just as more of a foundation of let’s get in there and create that openness to start out.
0:12:10 Tansy Rodgers: So, all right, let’s talk about the three powerful stones that help to guide us in remembering who we are beneath the silence. So first, one of my favorites, and you see this in so many of my jewelry designs [email protected] or if you come out to expos, you’re going to see so much of Amazonite. I absolutely love Amazonite. It is the truth harmonizer. It is like this tuning fork for your voice.
0:12:44 Tansy Rodgers: It helps to balance expression with empathy, truth with tact. And it’s really ideal for those moments when you know what you want to say, but the words feel clunky or charged. It helps you if you feel scared that your truth is going to hurt someone. And if you tend to either overshare or completely shut down, Amazonite is great for that. It’s great for decreasing the Stress and the anxiety and calming down your nervous system so that you can speak with more truth, but also with more heart.
0:13:20 Tansy Rodgers: So, really, Amazonite works great for both the heart and the throat and can help you to open up that clarity and that compassion. This is a beautiful stone to wear when having hard conversations or when recording, starting a podcast like I’m doing right now. You can also use it when you’re trying to write or if you’re performing, if you’re in a meeting, if you have to stand up and you have to speak and be a presenter.
0:13:51 Tansy Rodgers: Amazonite is awesome for that. It comes in and it invites you to say, this is what’s true for me, and I trust that it’s enough. Now, one of my favorite ways to use Amazonite is really actually in a necklace form, where I can have it sitting as more of, like a choker style, almost where it sits right over that throat area or just a little bit below that. It’s in between my throat and my heart. That’s one of my favorite ways because it gets right in there.
0:14:27 Tansy Rodgers: And so if I am going to be speaking, if I am going to be doing a lot of talking, if I want to bring clarity but also empathy and compassion in, I will wear the necklace in order to be able to express a little bit more openly and a little bit more confidently. However, if I’m not able to wear a piece of jewelry, if I can’t do a bracelet or a necklace, then I like just carrying a piece in my pocket. And when I’m feeling a little bit choked up, if I’m feeling like I can’t find my words, I just put my hand into my pocket and use it as a tactile reminder, along, of course, with getting the energy from that crystal itself.
0:15:11 Tansy Rodgers: Sometimes. Now this is more personal. Sometimes I find that when I’m feeling like my voice doesn’t want to say what it needs to say, for whatever reason, that having that tactile or visual reminder is really helpful for me in particular, because it brings me back into my body, it brings me back into awareness, and it brings me back into that moment that I know deep within my soul that it is okay for me to stand up and speak.
0:15:41 Tansy Rodgers: So if any of those resonate with you, you can really use it in any way that makes sense. But I do enjoy those ways in particular. Okay. Crystal number two is aquamarine. And aquamarine is this calm communicator. It’s cool and clear, deeply cleansing. And I find that Aquamari is great after years of burnout or swallowing your words, or emotional suppression. It comes in and it says, your voice is valid and it’s safe to speak softly and still be heard.
0:16:20 Tansy Rodgers: So if you’ve ever felt like your voice was too emotional or just too much, then aquamarine helps to bring that voice with validity and with safety and being able to step into it, even if you feel like, you know, like it’s too much, which is not, by the way, just let me just be clear there. It’s not. But sometimes we can get into these fears and anxieties, especially any kind of conditioning that maybe you’ve heard over the years or fears that you’ve heard, fears you’ve experienced, triggers that may make you step back and say, I don’t want to be too emotional. I don’t want to be too much.
0:17:01 Tansy Rodgers: And I say all of this, by the way, with so much compassion, because I get it. I’ve been there. I still get there at times. And I, too, have to remind myself that my voice, what I need, is valid and it’s okay to express. And so speaking of expression, this stone is awesome for divine expression, helping you to really channel in wisdom from your higher self, from someone, spirit from source. And so if we talk about best ways to use aquamarine, one of my favorite ways is to use it when you’re doing any kind of creative project or if you’re doing any kind of writing or speaking where you need to connect in with divine wisdom, with your higher self, with spirit, and you want to channel some of that through, you can do that in a couple different ways. You could do that during a writing session, speaking, artistic or creative expression session, or.
0:18:02 Tansy Rodgers: And. Or you can set it onto your throat chakra or hold it in your receiving hand when you’re doing meditations to help bring in some of that wisdom ahead of time. You can also use aquamarine when you’re doing breath work. If you feel like your throat starts to feel super stuck, you can use it to just simply soothe fear, to calm it down. I. I always feel like aquamarine. Maybe it’s the color, but I always feel like aquamarine is kind of like Vicks Vapor Rub.
0:18:34 Tansy Rodgers: You know, like, when you were growing up, did your parents, your mom ever use something like Vicks Vapor Rub to put on you, that menthol? And it just. Like every time you smell it, you just feel like you’re being taken care of. Maybe you feel like you’re being held, you’re being. You’re being seen and. And just coddled, right? Like, I know when I smell Menthol. It makes me feel like I am recovering.
0:19:02 Tansy Rodgers: And so when I work with aquamarine or I use aquamarine, I almost feel like it’s my Vicks vapor rub. And it just feels like that balm, that soothing balm to heal what is painful, to heal what’s hurt, to help calm down my body and make me feel safe and make me feel coddled and taken care of. So, yes, you can use it during breath work when your throat feels stuck, if you need to soothe any fear before sharing your truth and just, yeah, use it for that kind of purpose.
0:19:40 Tansy Rodgers: Okay. Crystal number three that I want to speak about today, that I love for the throat chakra is. Oh, Chrysocolla. If you’ve come to any of my live events, any of the expos That I will do, you will see that I have an overabundance of chrysocolla and malachites with some azurite in it. You will see Chrysocolla a lot on my table because it is one of my absolute favorite stones. It is the sacred truth speaker.
0:20:09 Tansy Rodgers: Chrysocolla is the crystal of the wise, feminine voice. Calm yet powerful, magnetic, yet rooted in this truth. And this stone really helps to support who you are by healing from emotional trauma that’s connected to being silenced. It helps you to reclaim your voice after betrayal or abuse or gaslighting. It helps you to learn to express your truth without apologizing for it. And so I love using Chrysocolla.
0:20:44 Tansy Rodgers: Not only is it an absolutely gorgeous stone with beautiful colors and is visually appealing in all ways, but it helps you to connect into that wise, feminine voice within you. And this is not gender specific. It doesn’t matter if you are man, female, binary. It doesn’t matter what your gender is. We all have masculine and feminine energy, and it allows us to connect into that feminine voice within each and every one of us.
0:21:17 Tansy Rodgers: Chrysocolla comes in and says, you are the temple. Your voice is a sacred sound. Speak from your knowing, speak from your truth. It also brings in this energetic protection while you’re seeing, speaking truth. And it is so perfect for healers and teachers and leaders who hold the space for other people so that you can be that rooted, that rooted person while you’re also speaking with powerfulness and calmness and magnetism.
0:21:56 Tansy Rodgers: Now, again, you can use this in many ways. You can simply have it sitting around you in your workspace. You can carry it in your pocket. You can wear it as jewelry. One of my favorite ways to use it is to literally have it like a Sounding board. So I will take that piece of chrysocolla, I will hold it up to my throat or to my lips, and I will softly speak, gently speak into that chrysocolla crystal.
0:22:28 Tansy Rodgers: My fears, my worries, my anxieties, my emotional traumas, whatever is heavy on my heart, the things that I need to say. And then I’ll take a moment and I will just hold that crystal over my heart, closing my eyes. You can do this in meditation as well. Closing my eyes and then asking, what wisdom do I need right now? What clarity can you bring me? What do I need to speak or say either to myself or out loud and allow myself to connect into whatever comes through.
0:23:08 Tansy Rodgers: Maybe that is little downloads or hits that I get when I am sitting and just connecting to the stone. Maybe it’s something that shows up minutes, hours, days later as clarity. Maybe it’s some synchronicities that pop in by things that I see, a song that I hear, something that a friend tells me. But again, just about giving my worries over to that stone and then allowing that stone to take that information and speak its wisdom back to me.
0:23:42 Tansy Rodgers: That’s one of my favorite ways when I use it as a tool to connect in with the crystal healing side. Now, as always, I want to go a little deeper into our conversation. I want you to be able to have some healing techniques for the throat chakra. So I’m going to give you two unique and soulful practices to help open up and restore your throat chakra. Way beyond the basics. Again, you can use the. I don’t want to make crystal healing hard.
0:24:15 Tansy Rodgers: You don’t need big rituals. You can simply wear the piece or you can take it into ritual to connect deeper. It is completely up to you and where you’re feeling called. So for today, I’m going to give you two opportunities, two ideas of ritual and how you can bring these pieces in. So let’s start with ritual number one. I call this the whisper to roar ritual because it’s all about reclaiming your vocal safety, but also the range in which your vocal safety is expressed.
0:24:53 Tansy Rodgers: So if you feel like you have this tendency to whisper like a mouse, if you find it hard to access your voice and to speak confidently and loudly, if you find it really challenging to allow that voice to become loud and open. And this is a ritual for you. So if you choose to do this one, what I would recommend is each day set aside five to 10 minutes, where you start by whispering a sentence that feels true.
0:25:27 Tansy Rodgers: That could be something like, I want more space or I’m done apologizing. Say it again in a neutral speaking voice. Whatever sentence feels like it resonates from your heart, not just what you think you’re supposed to say, what your heart wants to say, what your soul needs to say. Say it again in that neutral speaking voice. No judgment, no explaining. Just put it out there in a neutral speaking voice.
0:26:04 Tansy Rodgers: Then say it louder, Firm, but not yelling. Say it louder again, allowing yourself to just express in whatever way you need. I want you to keep saying it louder and louder until you feel like you have said that you have expressed enough as you need to. And then finally, when you feel like you have said it loudly enough and you’ve gotten it out there, I want you to sing or chant it aloud. Let it flow through your vocal cords.
0:26:45 Tansy Rodgers: Let that range come up and down, over and out. Whatever allows that voice to expand in the range and the safety of what you need to say. You are literally retraining your body to feel safe expressing across the entire spectrum of your voice. This is a retraining. This is especially powerful if your throat feels tight when you speak up. You feel like you need to just keep it real small, right? This is the best time for this.
0:27:23 Tansy Rodgers: All right. Ritual number two. I call this one sipping silence and writing truth. Because it is all about discovering what you’re not saying. With clients, I often, you know, when. When I’m working with them, and I see that their throat chakra is very blocked or overactive. Maybe their heart feels a little shut down. I need to balance that out, open it up, get that flow moving again. When we talk about, what are you not saying?
0:27:56 Tansy Rodgers: You need to speak your heart’s desires more. You need to open that up. I very often get come back with, well, I don’t know what to say. I don’t know how to say it or I can’t say it in certain situations. And as much as that may be true, sometimes we need to discover what we’re not saying that’s laying way deep below the surface. That can come out. So if you choose to do this one, I would encourage you spend 15 minutes or so in silence.
0:28:32 Tansy Rodgers: No music, no distractions. Just hold one of your crystals. Chrysocolla is beautiful for this. And then I want you to grab your journal or a piece of paper and answer these questions. What truth have I been avoiding? What truth have I been avoiding? Where am I not living in alignment with what I say I value? Where am I not living in alignment with what I say I value? And then finally, what would I say If I knew it was safe to be heard, what would I say if I knew it was safe to be heard?
0:29:29 Tansy Rodgers: Silence helps us hear the soul’s whispers. That’s why I say no music, no distractions. It allows the soul’s whispers to come out so that we can give them words. Because sometimes the soul’s whispers come through in emotions, sometimes it comes through in body expressions. And when you have that silence, you’re much better able to connect in with that. All right, my friends, let’s come into a little bit of an embodied voice activation. I want you to really connect in with your throat chakra and get the ball rolling, get that activation going.
0:30:14 Tansy Rodgers: So if you are in a situation or an area where you’re able to safely close your eyes and just spend a few moments connecting in, I invite you to do so. You can choose to use one of the crystals during this voice activation, but you don’t need to. If you do decide to grab one of the crystals, I want you to grab that crystal, hold it in your receiving hand. For most people, that is your left hand. I want you to take that crystal or just take your fingertips and gently place them over your throat.
0:30:53 Tansy Rodgers: Close your eyes. And let’s start by taking a deep breath coming in through the nose. And as you exhale, I want you to exhale with sound. Just a hum, a sigh, or a whispered vowel. Let it come out. And again, take a deep breath coming in through the nose, exhaling out with sound. Whatever feels correct to you. Feel that vibration on your fingertips or on that crystal. One more time, take a deep breath coming in through the nose and exhaling out with sound as loud as you want to. Let it flow through you.
0:31:43 Tansy Rodgers: And now just take a moment and relax into your body. Relax into the crystal, if you have it there. Relax into your fingertips, gently resting over your throat. And as you repeat the following with me, I want you to feel the vibration coming through onto those fingertips. Connect full body into that throat chakra, giving it honor, giving it support, validity for being there. Repeat softly the I speak with clarity, courage and care.
0:32:29 Tansy Rodgers: I release what was never mine to hold. I honor the voice of my soul. Now, take a moment as you sit here. Feel the vibration move through your entire body. Feel yourself open, not forcefully, but just naturally, kind of like a river, remembering how to flow. Again, take a moment as your fingers or the crystal rest gently over your throat to say thank you for speaking what I need to speak, for being my advocate.
0:33:20 Tansy Rodgers: No judgment, just gratitude. And as you do, I want you to visualize and Feel your energy expanding all the way out around you, coming from your throat chakra, opening up, giving yourself that permission to speak your truths as you feel called to. Now, remove your hands from your throat, take both arms, wrap them around your body and give yourself a huge hug, acknowledging and honoring that you are absolutely okay with speaking your voice.
0:34:19 Tansy Rodgers: When you feel ready, you can open your eyes, take a deep breath coming in through the nose and exhaling out with the hum or any sound that you feel needs to come out of that throat. It’d be really interesting to know if that voice, the sound that came out, changed it all from the very beginning of that activation towards until you got towards the end. I’d be really curious if that changed. All right, my friend, this week let’s carry some Amazonite, some aquamarine and or chrysocolla, or even better, wear one close to your throat.
0:35:04 Tansy Rodgers: And then I want you to pick one moment each day where you choose honesty over habit. Just one moment each day where you allow yourself to choose honesty over something that you habitually do. And then I want you to ask yourself, is what I’m about to say aligned with what I truly believe? If it’s not, then pause, reframe, realign. Because this is how truth becomes a real practice. Remember, if you want more support, you can check out any throat chakra pieces [email protected] you can also go over to Instagram @beucompletecrystals and see what I have going on over there. Because my website over at Beu Crystals is a little small as I keep trying to get more content coming up there. But there are some great pieces for you to explore and to also connect into.
0:36:12 Tansy Rodgers: If you’ve seen something out at Expos, please feel free to reach on out to me. You can also schedule a session@tansy rogers.com I’d love to support your truth telling journey in real time. There are many ways we can work together. Oh my friend. Next week we rise into the third eye chakra. This is the realm of insight into intuition, inner vision, higher self connection, the seat of clarity and knowing and spiritual discernment.
0:36:44 Tansy Rodgers: But for now, may you speak what’s real and may you honor what’s starting to rise. Remember, your voice is sacred, your truth is so holy, and your silence when choosing consciously is just as powerful as the words that you speak. And until next time, keep spreading that beautiful energy you were born to share.
